Y'all, we have something fun. From now until Fuzzy Fest on October 25th, every dollar donated to FTAF is going to be MATCHED, up to $3,000, by an anonymous donor team who loves Gretchen and her work (this is her rescue). That means your gift does DOUBLE the work for the dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens who just need somebody to take a second look. Donate $5, make $10 of impact. If we meet our $3,000 goal, that's $6,000 total we raise in October! LET'S GEAUX
We will announce the final total LIVE at Fuzzy Fest on the 25th, so if you want to be in that number, now is the time. Click here to donate!
Fuzzy Towers Animal Foundation is a 501c3 New Orleans-based micro-rescue. We specialize in adoptable animals whose eye conditions — from cherry eye to enucleation — create financial barriers that too often end in long-term shelter stays. We partner with the Louisiana SPCA to identify and rescue animals who are otherwise healthy but need specialized eyecare to be fully ready for adoption. By funding and coordinating specialized veterinary eye care, we transform medically complex animals into healthy, adoption-ready companions.
Every animal deserves a second look.
We make sure no adoptable animal loses sight of their way home.

Fuzzy Towers exists because of one dog named Gretchen, a one-eyed shih tsu/poodle/gremlin with very expensive taste in veterinary care. Her journey from medically fragile foster to beloved foster failed mascot proves exactly what's possible when someone just shows up for an animal.
So we built an organization to keep showing up.
We operate as a specialized pull partner. When the LASPCA identifies a candidate who needs care beyond the scope of general shelter medicine, Fuzzy Towers provides:
Medical Autonomy: Once a dog or cat is pulled into our rescue, we take 100% responsibility for their surgical costs, specialist consultations, and long-term medications.
Board-Certified Care: We partner directly with New Orleans’ specialists—Dr. Bass (VCA Algiers) and Dr. da Costa (Eye Center for Animals) —to ensure the highest standard of surgeries.
Foster-Based Recovery: Our fosters are trained in post-operative eye care, ensuring the animal is stable and healing before being placed for adoption.
Budget Relief: Save medical funds for heartworm treatments and spay/neuter—we raise the funds specifically for the "eyeball cases."
Increased Adoptability: We take the "scary looking scungy" cases and return them to the community as healthy, clear-eyed companions.
